Why You Feel Busy but Unfulfilled: Redefining Success in Your Faith, Fitness, and Relationships

Lord, thank You for giving us another week to grow—spiritually, mentally, and physically.

👋 NOTE FROM ME / TODAY’S SNAPSHOT
This week, I wanted to circle back to the five pillars—faith, fitness, nutrition, relationships, and personal growth.
Sometimes, I overcomplicate things. I try to chase new systems or routines when really, it’s the basics that keep us anchored. The pillars don’t need to be flashy—they just need to be steady.
So instead of long sections this week, I’m keeping it simple and focused.
These are the reflections that have been shaping me lately—lessons from Bible study, marriage, training, and everyday life that have been refining how I show up in all areas.
Let’s finish strong, friends. We’ve got two months left in 2025. Let’s not wait for January to start living intentionally.
🙌 FAITH
This week in our couples Bible study, we walked through Ephesians 3:14, and one phrase hit differently this time—“I kneel before the Father.”
Paul’s posture wasn’t just symbolic. It was intentional surrender.
When I pray, I’ve noticed something similar. If I’m cozy on the couch, sweatshirt on, blanket over me… I’m asleep in five minutes. My mind drifts, my prayer loses focus.
But when I’m on my knees—or even face down on the floor—it changes everything.
It’s not about legalism or checking a box. It’s about physically aligning with reverence.
Our posture affects our focus. It’s hard to drift when you’re kneeling before the Creator of the universe.
Maybe this week, you try it too. Don’t overthink it—just kneel. Bow. Pause. Feel that tension in your knees and remember who you’re talking to.
“Come, let us bow down in worship, let us kneel before the Lord our Maker.” — Psalm 95:6
🏃♂️ FITNESS
If you’ve been struggling with motivation lately, there’s a reason.
Actually—two.
1️⃣ You don’t have a clear goal.
2️⃣ You’re repeating the same thing, not seeing results, and wondering, “What’s the point?”
Here’s how to change that:
Get specific. “I want to be healthy” isn’t a goal—it’s a wish. Try: “I want to lose 20 pounds,” “I want to gain 10 pounds of muscle,” or “I want more energy for my kids.”
Know your ‘why.’ When your “why” is strong, your excuses get weak.
Stick with a plan. Even the worst plan done consistently beats the best plan done inconsistently.
Do things you enjoy. Don’t box yourself into a bodybuilder split with 45 minutes on the StairMaster. Jump. Throw. Carry. Play basketball. Move with joy.
Get accountability. One of my clients Venmos me $5 every time he misses a workout. Simple, but effective.
Discipline is easier when your goals are clear, your “why” is strong, and your plan fits your life.
🍽️ NUTRITION
Quick update—I’m down from 202 to 199 lbs over the past couple weeks. Right on track with the goal: about a pound per week.
The biggest difference? Planning.
When my wife and I plan our meals before grocery shopping, there’s no guessing, no “what’s for dinner?” chaos. We already know exactly what’s fueling our goals.
And here’s the thing—despite what the “cutting board bros” on social media say, you don’t need to intermittent fast or cut out carbs to lose body fat.
I eat plenty of carbs—just time them strategically around workouts for performance and recovery. The rest of the day, I focus on lean protein and veggies.
Fuel your body with intention, not restriction.
And hey—don’t wait for January 1st to start your next “health phase.” You’ve got two full months left in 2025.

💬 RELATIONSHIPS
My wife and I were talking last night about why we feel closer now than ever before.
Of course, putting Christ first is the foundation—but right behind that is our friendship.
We laugh a lot. We’re goofy. We play games, make fun of each other (lovingly), and never stop being friends.
That friendship allows us to drop our guard, be honest, and face challenges together.
Our dating and engagement seasons weren’t easy. We went through a lot of spiritual warfare and growing pains. But through it all, friendship kept us anchored.
So if you’re married or dating—invest in your friendship.
Plan a date night. Watch a movie. Pray together. Laugh until your stomach hurts.
Marriage isn’t meant to be endured—it’s meant to be enjoyed.
“Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor.” — Ecclesiastes 4:9
🧠 PERSONAL GROWTH
I’ve been reading Sacred Pace, and one part hit me hard.
The author stopped setting monetary goals because he realized chasing income made him sacrifice what mattered most—his marriage, his daughters, and his walk with God.
As an entrepreneur in my 20s and the provider for our home, that cut deep.
My pastor recently said, “If you got to choose what shirt you wanted to wear to church today, you’re blessed beyond measure.”
That line stuck.
I want to work hard, provide, and build something meaningful—but not at the expense of my family or faith.
Work will always be there. Money will always be there. But people won’t.
So I’m learning to be effective in my work, but also ruthless about margin—more time with God, my wife, my friends.
Because Jesus said it best:
“Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth... but store up treasures in heaven.” — Matthew 6:19–20
🙏 CLOSING PRAYER
Lord, help us posture ourselves in humility, pursue You with focus, and prioritize what truly matters.
Give us discipline in our training, wisdom in our choices, and love that reflects Your heart in all we do.
