Opening Prayer
Lord, help me be present in each moment today knowing that each passing second is a gift from you. Help me to do my best in the work you have blessed me with so that it would be pleasing to you, and glorify your name because we work for the advancement of your Kingdom and to honor you.
What if every task you do is an opportunity to glorify God?
“For even when we were with you, we would give you this command: If anyone is not willing to work, let him not eat. For we hear that some among you walk in idleness, not busy at work, but busybodies. Now such persons we command and encourage in the Lord Jesus Christ to do their work quietly and to earn their own living.”
Is working hard a bad thing? Is ministry the only work that is pleasing to God? Should we quit our jobs to be full-time missionaries?
No, no, and only if that is what the Lord has called you to do.
We are more connected in society today than at any other time in human history. While social media can be a blessing, as it has become a career for me, it can also cause us to fall into the comparison trap.
As the famous quote goes, “Comparison is the thief of joy.”
Over the past year, I have wrestled with whether or not any of the work matters if it is not studying the Bible, evangelizing, or serving.
It wasn’t until I was pointed toward a sermon series by John MacArthur titled “Work: A Noble Christian Duty” that my perspective on work changed.
While many are called to ministry, evangelism, or missionary work, many are not.
Our ministry can be how we show up and do our job, lead our families, or even treat strangers at the grocery store.
Work is a command from God. It is good and pleasing to Him.
Jesus was a worker- he spent years as a carpenter.
The apostle Paul was a worker- even though he could have been supported by the church, he chose to earn his wages working as a tent maker.
Paul had to write a second letter to the Thessalonians because they did not listen to him the first time telling them that they must WORK!
There were people in Thessalonica refusing to work and only studying the Law because they thought it was the only work that pleased God.
Paul states in the Scripture that if a man is able and does not work, let him go hungry.
Although it sounds harsh, God commands that we work.
By working hard we can provide for our loved ones, contribute to the good of society, have money to give to our churches, and put on display God’s gifts that He has given us.
If we don’t work hard, we let others down, we let ourselves down, and we let God down.
No matter what your occupation is, remember that doing it to the best of your ability, pleases God and gives Him glory.
5 Healthy Meals For Busy People
I eat close to the same thing every day. I keep it consistent for breakfast, lunch, and my afternoon snack, and then I will change it up for dinner.

Question of the Week: How to find balance in life
This week’s question comes from Richard: how do you have time to tackle friendships, work out, be involved in the community, etc.?
This is a great question and something I have been putting a lot of intention toward.
For me, it comes down to my priorities.
My faith
My relationships
My health
My work
If it doesn’t fall into these 4, I am going to say no to it.
I am in a season of my life where my time is limited, and saying yes to one thing is saying no to another.
Our bandwidth is limited, so it’s important to fall back on our priorities to know what we should say yes or no to.
My best advice would be to think about your 3-5 biggest priorities in life, write them down frequently, and keep them in a place you can see them to remind yourself, and be conscious of what you are committing to.
One of the ways I like to do is invite people to go on a run, walk, or workout to spend time and catch up with them while also getting in some exercise.
